Feel Good Friday is about self appreciation. We must learn to love ourselves. This includes looking at our good features as well as our bad features. And at the same time loving who you are. For instance I am a friendly goofball who loves to make people smile. But I can be naive and over trusting. 

But I love me cause, well, I am awesome. This has not always been an easy thing to do or say. In fact it was quite the opposite for the longest time. Once I could get past seeing only the bad, I could finally see the good and how it was confirmed with other social interactions. A lot of times we tend to not pay attention to the good and mostly focus on the bad and develop a “woo is me” attitude. Been there. With slowing down and taking a few moments to look at myself and reflect on what I was doing in a day, I begun to realize that my impact on others was far more positive than I even realized. I feel you could have just as great of a positive affect on those around you. The only thing stopping you, is you. 

You are what you believe you are.

If you tell yourself it’s gonna be a bad day, 90% chance it’s gonna be a bad day. If you tell yourself its going to be a great day, there is a 80% chance it can be a great day. Happier days are harder to achieve cause we tend to focus on the wrong things. We tend to focus on the bad over seeing the good or a good outcome from the current situation. Now I’m not saying this is going to be easy. A lot of us need to change our mindset and not focus so much on the bad and see what good can come from something instead. 

Try this exercise out and see if it helps. Go to a mirror and look yourself in the eyes and repeat to yourself. “I am positivity. I can spread positivity. I can see the better outcome.” All while taking in heavy inhales and exhales. Repeat this as many times as you like but 3 times to start out. By reinforcing yourself that you can be positive, you are telling your brain that you can be positive and see the better outcome of things. There is no time frame just do it. If you are in the middle of your work day and the negativity is building up. Take a break from work, Take a few deep breaths, while saying “I am positivity. I can spread positivity. I can see the better outcome.” You don’t have to say exactly that either. Change it up from time to time. “I am happy. I can spread love. I can be a better partner.” Customize what you say to the situation and change your mindset.

At the end of the day, you live with yourself. Why not be the you that you love?
